Last winter, I started using a full body goose decoy as a subject in film and paper tests. He was a patient subject, and always up for a shoot, even if the snow was flying or the sun was barely up. I shot several rolls of 120 and 35 with him as I played with combos of developer, dev times, papers, etc..
I liked many of those pics, as weird as they were.
This spring I got the idea to take my decoy along with me on a trip to a local waterfall, and place him in locations as a centre of focus… So many times, water shots and waterfalls seem to lack a definitive point of interest. I wanted to see how it would work to create my own.
I was pretty happy with the results … Here’s a quick contact sheet from the trip. This was a roll of 120 Ilford Ortho Plus 80 ISO, Pentax 67 with 105 lens, developed in Xtol stock… The sheet is a bit dark, but oh, well, it’s a contact print …
